  My husband, Ray and I were traveling along Route 20 - the wine trails - through New York and Pennsylvania in August of 2017.  We were out early on a Saturday morning in Sheridan, New York when Ray spotted the Four Corners Diner.  We wanted to eat something substantial before tasting wine that day and had passed the restaurant on our "scouting trip" through wine country.  We visited a few area yard sales before heading back east to Four-Corners.  
  
  The Four Corners is a quaint local eatery that is often inundated with out-of-towners tasting wine along the wine trail.  It is hard to find a restaurant open prior and/or after the winery tasting hours!  The interior of Four Courners is diner/yard-sale/grandma's kitchen/neighbor's front porch/kitsch.  No one is a stranger here!  The overall "homey" feeling is compounded by the fact that the grill is open to the dining room.  
  
  The proprietor, Julie, cooks each meal to order.  The restaurant is manned by Julie's family members - our waiter was Julie's  grandson; a budding architect with his sights set on Cornell University and a penchant for his grandmother's creative approach to cooking.  
  
  While many upper-scale "chic" restaurants today boast the fact that they rely on local ingredients; Four Corners actually delivers.  Julie utilizes local wines to make jellies, barbecue sauces, pie fillings, and potatoes... yes, chardonnay potatoes.  Julie's "Chardonnay Potatoes" have been featured in many of the food/wine shows in Sheridan.
  
  Ray and I ordered two hefty, carb-infused breakfasts from Four Corners in order to steel ourselves against the alcohol we were about to ingest at the wineries.
  
  Eggs, bacon, sausage, homemade hash browns, and wheat toast with homemade wine jellies were our meals of choice.  Everything was amazing!  My husband opted for the "homemade" bread for his toast... it was crusty, crumbly, fluffy, hot, soft and chewy!  Did I mention that it was delicious... well it was!
  
  Julie brought out a sample of her "Chardonnay Potatoes" that she wanted us to try before we left the restaurant.  I was SO full, but I tried a spoonful of the pillowy golden morsels offered to me.  The dish was almost like a thick potato soup made with golden russett potatoes and a  splash of sweet-heat from the buttery alcohol of the Chardonnay.  My husband got two bites before I inhaled the rest of the bowl!
  
  We spoke with other patrons while eating our breakfasts and we got to listen to the local gossip.
  
  We had a picture taken to memorialize our visit and wrote in the restaurant's memory book.
  
  The Four Corners shares a corner building with the local Post Office.  American flags grace the window boxes among the overflowing mums.  We totally love this place!

  Stopped by for breakfast on  Sat morning while on a long road trip ... good food - diner style ... enjoyed speaking to the owner while I sipped my coffee.  Welcoming and friendly ... I will definitely be back.   Owner also makes pickles, jams and pies.  (And - for you fellow southern road trippers - they try to keep Cheerwine on hand.)

  This place is definitely one of those places you look at as you drive by wondering if it's a dump or a little slice of heaven. As it turns out - it's a bit of heaven.
  
  Plenty of off street free parking, large enough inside with tables far enough apart that you don't feel like you are sitting next to everyone else, friendly staff, cook, server, cashier - oh yes - all in the same. One person greeted us, gave us some recommendations, took our order, cooked it, served us and then cashed us out! Maybe that's why the prices are so good, the food is so tasty and the service is so amazing - she does it all!
  
  There is plenty of selections, but go ahead and take the recommendation, she knows what's good and she knows what she cooks the best!
  
  Place lacks all style, but makes up for it in everything else!

  Truly a great find! We were greeted with a most welcoming hello as soon as we stepped inside. The food is delicious! I had the best homemade grape jelly I have ever tasted on delicious homemade bread. The pancakes are light and fluffy. French toast had a thin crispy crust with just the right amount of cinnamon and the omelette was nicely cooked. The portions are large so be prepared to take a pancake home for snack.
  
  Would have liked to try the lunch menu. Looking forward to our next visit.

  Ok- so for all of us in the area who miss Judys pan fried fish (The Outer Limits Cafe) stop in and try Four Corners. Their pan friend fish is pretty good. The workers/owners were all really nice so I hope they stick around!
